Thutmose III was one of the greatest of ancient Egypt's kings. He reigned from about 1490 to 1436 B.C. He became a brilliant general, and his well-planned military campaigns, mainly in Palestine and Syria, greatly expanded the boundaries of the Egyptian empire.
